Research Interests
My research interests include Grid technologies, Pervasive Computing, Service Oriented Architecture and Web Services, Lightweight Distributed systems, and Large Scale Distributed systems. Generally, anything related to distributed and Grid systems architecture and design.
PhD Research: Virtual Clusters
My PhD research is about the Integration of Mobile and Resource Limited Devices into the Grid -the Virtual Clusters project. I started work on my PhD in February 2004 under the supervision of Prof. Vladimir Getov at the Harrow School of Computer Science of the University of Westminster. I submitted my Thesis on June 2007, and I successfully defended it on the 5th of November 2007 in front of a panel consisting of Dr. Geoff Dowling and Dr. Omer Rana.
The main objective of the Virtual Clusters is to enable the integration of mobile devices as service providers and not just consumers. The solution I have architected, implemented, and evaluated, is based on the dynamic, reconfigurable groups of mobile devices coined Virtual Clusters. For more details on the Virtual Clusters project have a look at the project home page: Virtual Clusters Project page

CoreGRID and GridCOMP
A bit outside the lines of my PhD research, was my participation in CoreGRID, where I worked on lightweight Grid platform specification and design, and Grid system architecture, and in GridCOMP, where I worked on the design and implementation of a Grid Integrated Development Environment.
