A much anticipated report from the largest such study in its field, the INTERPHONE analysis provided too much ammunition for the shock-title hungry newspapers to resist…

More and more people and organizations are denouncing Homeopathy for what it is: witchcraft. In fact, this is the exact word the British Medical Association used in a motion it passed to urge the National Health Service to stop using tax money to fund unproven “medicine”.

Yay! Today the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) dropped their libel case against Simon Singh after two whole years! A turning point was when a couple of weeks ago three of the most senior judges in England upheld Simon’s appeal thus allowing him to defend his article much more easily.

Every rational member of the scientific, medical, and (proper) journalist community was quite happy (and relieved) today when news broke out that Simon Singh’s appeal was upheld today by three of the most senior judges in England!

This is getting a bit repetitive but further evidence on the complete absence of any link between the MMR vaccine and autism have been presented in a Polish study lead by Dr. Dorota Mrozek-Budzyn

In the last episode of House I watched (which is still from season 1), there is Harvey, a patient that visited the clinic because for some months now he has been grinding his teeth (!) The fun part begins when a doctor asks Harvey (and his friend) if he had had any treatments for his condition. Here is the woo dialogue…

It seems the battle to get rid of pseudo-scientific treatments from the public health and education arena (such as the NHS and various universities offering dubious “science” degrees) is never really going to end. There might have been some progress in fighting homeopathy out of some universities, and raising awareness of its absurdity, but now an MP (!) David Tredinnick calls for more research and public funding of… medical astronomy and remote healing!!

I was surprised last week to see a number of media reports on the apparent safety of the MMR vaccine and that, no, it doesn’t cause autism after all… Loads of evidence have been gathered over the last decade that conclusively show that MMR has nothing to do with autism whatsoever, yet even nowadays some still argue about this!
