The Daily Express has a pill that extends our lives!
New pill can add 20 years to life” says the title. “A wonder pill could extend the lifespan of people by up to 23 years” says the subtitle. “The ‘elixir of life’ anti-ageing drug…” starts the article. A nice smiling lady consuming a white pill is shown in the photo. She seems very happy with her extra 23 years that come in a pill in your high street pharmacy. Cool and exciting stuff it seems.

Apparently the Daily Express has access to (or information about) a ground breaking pill that extends the lifespan of humans by up to 23 years!

Errr, not really…

Actually, this bastion of accurate science reporting, has reached this conclusion after applying their usual techniques to: preliminary research findings of a compound called rapamycin, used in a mice model, which by the way suppresses immunity*, and by extrapolating the numbers from mice to humans in a simple linear fashion…
