Would you guess the type of my blog?
I guess this is one predictable result: Typealyzer analyzes the text on one’s blog and spits out a result outlining the writing style and the potential personality of the writer. Guess what I came out as?
What’s interesting is that a few days ago when I first discovered Typealyzer (through Dr. Rob) I run the test again, and although I came out as a Thinker again, the brain activity patterns were a bit different then:
So what has changed since then? I have merely produced another instalment of “Stuff from the Science Blogosphere” and a brief “Happy Birthday Origin of Species” posts!
In any case I should not take this too seriously, except perhaps from the part where I am not arrogant, impatient or insensitive: it is everyone else that is stupid and cannot follow the higher order thinking I am typically involved in!

The ThinkersThis doesn’t seem too far fetched, although it reminds me of the generic categorizations that horoscopes provide. So how does subjective validation (see also the Forer effect) get into this picture? Would I agree with other outcomes? Here is a figure of the brain areas supposedly active during my writing:
The logical and analytical type. They are especialy [sic] attuned to difficult creative and intellectual challenges and always look for something more complex to dig into. They are great at finding subtle connections between things and imagine far-reaching implications.
They enjoy working with complex things using a lot of concepts and imaginative models of reality. Since they are not very good at seeing and understanding the needs of other people, they might come across as arrogant, impatient and insensitive to people that need some time to understand what they are talking about.

Hi Stravros. Although I don’t have a blog, I used Typealyzer (just out of curiosity) to parse my 2 websites (http://users.uom.gr/~agougl/ and http://porttoipv6.sourceforge.net/). Out of the blue, Typealyzer produced the same output for both of them. I came out to be a “Scientist”. Pious hopes? Or not? Hehe… By the way, the first brain activity image in your post is the one Typealyzer gave me as a “Scientist”. Take care.

Dude, this doesnt work properly! Ken Ham’s blog came out as “Thinkers”!!! True, its brain pattern goes into spirituality a bit but “Thinkers”?!?

I believe that ‘The logical and analytical type’ addresses to your blog from analysing Isaiadis
Let’s try different approach this time by analysing Isaiadis Blog “Typealyzer’s” final verdict state that you no longer stack with the group of ‘The Thinkers’. These times surprisingly it came to “ESTJ - The Guardians”.
It seems like you have a talent to be a ‘Thinker’, ‘Scientist’ and ‘Guardian’, but deep down I believe is still does not define your true psychological talent. Is more like all it simply does looks up the language structure that corresponds to specific term by using standard machine classification technique. It interesting to note as well that in real life we could be almost is an opposite towards what Typealyzer analysis.
It reminds me as almost having your own personal horoscope or fortune cookie. To be, or not to be: that is the question: “Thinker” or “Visionary”?? Like it was stated in Language Blog ”If you’ve any faith at all in the psychological categories they use, then this is neat way to do cheap psychology…”

Smith, that’s another perspective I hadn’t considered -checking individual blog posts! This is becoming fun
Of course I agree that the analysis might yield a very strange result. It is like a horoscope with the difference that here there is at least some rational process behind it (analyzing your writings and detecting patterns) even if it might be wrong!
