And atheists complain the church is not modernized!
At a time when immoral, decadent atheists accuse the Church for following its ancient holy books and not reflecting the modern society, this is what I call modernization of the Church: a Bible Web Service!

Have you always wanted to embed Bible verses in your website or web application? Have you wondered how to “query” the Bible for specific verses or text? Have you tried to create your own Bible search engine but failed? Now you can easily do all of these cool stuff with the ESV Bible Web Service!!! [ESV = English Standard Version]

The Web Service page is packed with all the usual jargon from server-side programming languages such as PHP and ASP, to XML, Javascript and RSS! And if you though that was the end of it, guess again: there is even an Application Programming Interface page describing in detail the service’s interface and providing sample code for all kinds of languages from Java to Python!!

But we should give credit where credit is due: the pages are complete and in detail, and, leaving aside some navigation issues, they give a developer pretty much everything he might need to… access the Bible.
