In a rare rational moment, the
House of Lords voted for a government plan to “
abolish the offences of blasphemy and blasphemous libel” as BBC reported.
This, of course, is good news although some political and church figures saw that as an “
assault on our Christian heritage” and as an effort towards the secularisation of the British society (why is this a bad thing anyway?)
I will close this newsflash with a famous quote (I am not sure who said it though!):
Blasphemy is a victimless crime
