Escape routine: The little hot spots that matter
Where do you escape from your burdens?

In the middle of writing up my PhD dissertation I found myself rooted in front of my laptop or long chapter drafts, having last gone out a week ago -and that was only a few meters from my flat!

It is now that I most appreciate the little bars, cinemas, pubs I used to visit quite often until about 6-8 months ago. It is not just London -which is full of small gems that you have to dig (sometimes deep) to discover! In Greece it was the same -a small and smoky rock bar to meet your friends and listen to great music, a cafe to meet your friends and watch your favorite football team losing once again, and more.
Buffalo Bar
The huge variety in London urges you to keep looking for new places every time you go out -despite often ending up in familiar and comfortable places. Among my favorite places in London, is a small artistic cafe right behind Angel station, the Princes Charles cinema at Leicester Square, the Buffalo Bar in Highbury corner, and a few more I don’t quite remember now…

I find that small well “dressed” bars, with reasonable to good music, work wonders for me. I know of many people that feel good amongst a horde of strangers, perhaps enjoying their anonymity or feeding their lusty eyes.

Just out of exploratory curiosity, I have two questions: where do you escape in your town? And, can anyone suggest interesting places in London?

Buffalo is nice, I've been there many times. Also, the Cock Pub above is interesting as well :-)
